On behalf of Jason, I want to thank you all for your praise and your constructive criticisms.

126boxing, unfortunately, Jason does not have Obama's speech writers or his teleprompters.  However, what's wrong with saying that your worst day will never be as bad as a Marine's worst day?
Do you analyze every athlete's spontaneous interviews as closely as Jason's?

Just a little insight into Jason's fight:
Jason has been working on pacing himself better so as to have more power at the end of the fight as well as having more energy to maintain a good defense.  He has also been working on being more careful in the ring (improving his defense). That is why he didn't go balls out like he did against Kimbrough.

Also, Jason felt he could have taken out Edwards on several occasions but he did not want to do it in front of all of Edward's fellow marines.  This was no ordinary audience. There were 3 generals, and other officers, but mostly enthusiatic, young, brave, loud enlisted men and women.  You should have heard their rendition of the Marine hymn when Ewards made his entrance.
After the fight Jason took the mike and thanked all the troops for their service and said that they were the true champions.  He then threw his gloves into the roaring crowd. He then went into the crowd and for the next hour he signed autographs, took pictures, and joked with the Marines.  One of the Marines honored Jason by giving him his Marine camouflage cap. Jason gave one of the Marines his boxing robe.
It was a great experience for me, Jason and his brothers to stay on base before the fight, talk with the officers and the troops, watch the non-stop helecopters landing and flying, training for their future missions.  Sometimes we take for granted what these guys are doing to protect us so that we can live our care-free lives in America.

Okay, no one took my lead on this so I'm just going to say it. Nevermind what Jason actually said, he sounded awful saying it. He is completely swallowing his words. Pull an interview with him before the Guerrero fight then listen to the one from espn. Night and Day.

Hey Probert-

Would it make you happy if J. Litzau came out to this song for his next fight?

I don't want to sound like I'm ripping the guy. The fact though is that he's only boxed some 130 rounds and he sounds as bad as Joe Frazier.

Granted he probably has no other skills that would translate to a regular job, but nonetheless, the people close to him should seriously consider sitting the guy down and talking retirement.

My question is why is everybody a critic on his interviewing skills. He gets paid to fight not speak, and by the looks of it he is doing a hell of a job, so lets stick to his boxing not his speaking.

"He didn't want to ko edwards in front of his fellow Marines..." yea I think I'm gonna have to throw the BS flag on that one too.  Get the @#$! outta here, he could barely land any clean shots on the kid, let alone KO him if he wanted to.  Now I know that part of the reason why he couldn't land many good clean shots on Edwards was because of Edwards double leg takedown lunging style, but don't make up some kind of BS line like "he didn't want to do that in front of his fellow marines"  If he has that mentality, maybe he should think of another career.  Honestly I don't think that BS came out of Litzau's mouth, its someone else doing the talkin for him.

That's great to hear about Jason going into the crowd after the fight and signing autographs. I think boxing needs more of that to really build out a fan base that is struggling to build to put it nicely.

I'd like to see more local fighters do the same here, and maybe Jason has done that locally in the past, and i just don't know about it. It seems lately the local fans and Jason have taken a turn for the worse, but those kind of actions after the fight are what i think helps bring fans back to the fights. It works for Nascar.

Hope to see Jason locally soon.
