Congrats to Jason. His opponent was awkward, but I thought Jason fought the right fight. This year Jason has had the tune up, the huge blow out win on PPV and now 10 tough rounds. I don't think they could have envisioned 2009 going any better. Congrats again to Jason, Bob and the entire team.

I agree too about the good year. Jay coulda took a few more chances with the shorter fighter, but then again, he leaves himself open alot more too with that style. He made the same amount of money and took the smart way out with this fight. I think Jay was holding back some too though. It just sucks he came to fight and Edwards came to wrestle. |

Awesome showing by Litzau. I hope we continue to see this! Props on his boxing skills tonight. |

Great win for Jason! Great win for min! I would say i like litz better than most min boxing enthusiast, but J did not look himself, he looked slow, tired, and for some reason old! A Jason litzau i have seen in the past would have had that lesser fighter out in 3 or less! Anybody know if he was sick or somethin? Or dose anybody even feel the same way i do? Teddy Atlas and mel gibson thought so!Lol! Then again maybe he was fighting the smart fight like some of you have said already! Anyway Congrats to J and company!

I think Jason did pretty good considering the un-watchable frusterating style of the guy he had to fight! Teddy Atlas and Mel Gibson kind of pissed me off early on though. All they do is rip Jason for not taking his time and fighting smart on his last espn showings. Now he fights a calm, smart, paced 10 rd fight and they rip him for not apparently jumping in blind and looking to bang with his head first. I would choose this composed style of Litzau any day because it gives him a much better chance to win these upcoming big fights. At times it still seems that Jason gets caught somewhere in the middle of his old and new style but it is fun to watch him box more and more complete fights like this.

Yeah your right jesse, they jumped on his case right off the bat, early in the first round even! Crazy to see a more conservative jason! The ref also kind of pissed me off, warning j throughout the fight.....but what the hell are you suppose to do with a short, awkward, fighter that likes to clinch often! Jason had him hurt a few times during this fight, but jason was hit more than i thought he should have been! Cant member what round, some where in mid rounds, com. spoke about it....a big body blow that jason delivered right before a clinch.....wow massive, one of the best i have seen, your could hear it!

Anyone remember Riddick Bowe and how he looked after his fights with Holyfield? Between his prefight interview and just all around lack of quickness and reflexes.... I don't want to say it but is Litzau all ready an old fighter? Well I'm not going to get down on him just yet. I guess he didn't go away to camp to train for this fight. He has been around a woman who just gave birth and a new born. He probably wasn't sleeping right or getting his proper prep in for this fight. Even though he looked a little off tonight he easily won the fight. I'll wait to see how he looks in his next fight. I think it's time for Wilton Hilario to step up his competition and show us what he is made of. If Wilton could get some quality wins maybe then we could see the Hilario Litzau fight back on again!

I haven't seen Leon Bobo fight but from what I am told, this fight on the 13th should be a big test and chance to show what Hilario can do. I agree, I really want to see Jason and Wilton fight!

I want to get this kid in to fight Hilario. I think we'll know a lot more when they have a common opponent.....

Wow...what a horrible performance by Litzau. I don't know what fight you all were watching but if you watched his last fight (Kimbrough) and rated it against Edwards...its a huge step backwards. Edwards is not anywhere near the same level that Litzau (or Kimbrough) is and the fight should not have gone the full 10. Litzau didn't use any of his natural advantages in the fight. He didn't use his height, reach, or his long hard jab at all. Then when he did have Edwards hurt, he did not capitalize on it and end the fight like he should have. I'll give his rating a "C" at best. He definately did not look like the same fighter that just fought a few months ago. I wouldn't say that Teddy Atlas was ripping Litzau, but he was pointing out the obvious mistakes in the fight and anyone who knows anything about boxing could have seen and agreed with that. In Litzau's defense though, it was like he was fighting the referee too. WTF!!! That ref was horrible!!! Breaking the action when it didn't even call for it, constantly allowing Edwards to turn his back on Litzau, warning Litzau for pulling Edward's head down??? Almost every time Edwards came in, he was going for a double leg take down and put his own head down there. I think just the whole showing was pitiful, the ref, Edwards who is a class "C" fighter, and Litzau's performance as well, it just wasn't a good performance to help raise Litzau's market value in the sport of boxing. If anybody gets a higher payday after this fight, its Edwards because he can say that he has gone 10 rnds with Litzau, which will up his market value even though he lost. Litzau doesn't lose any value but he definately doesn't gain any. I understand that this is a pro-Litzau/pro-minnesota boxers site so my comment will probably be bashed, but it is what it is, I call it like I (and anyone else who knows anything about the sport) see it. And for the short interview Litzau did at the begining of the airing...he should just stick to boxing. "My worst day in life is...not anywhere close to their worst day"??? Wasn't he trying to say "My worst day in life is not anywhere near the best day in the life of a Marine" Again...just calling it like I see it. |

First of all congrads to J Litzau on another successful win. I will have to agree with Klaw on this...Jason hit him with some great shots, but it was difficult for Jason to zero in on a moving target. I also agree with Klaw that Jason got hit in the middle rounds. J was going into a punch combo with Edward and came in wide. Edward threw the shorter inside shots and started to catch Jason. Bob, this is something that Jason needs to see on film. Also, when J was coming in with his right hand he was overshooting. Edward is a short compact fighter, and Jason wasn't able to adjust and throw a shorter right hand punch. Bob, this is another thing to show Jason on film. So, with that being said...I'm not being negative, just trying to point out some key things. I'm happy for Jason's success and only comment for improvements. Again, congrads to Bob, and Jason. The fight was difficult as Edwards is just a squirlley little awkward fighter...kinda dirty too. --Last edited by corey rodriguez on 2009-11-05 09:22:40 -- |

126, you exaggerate. Litzau had trouble pulling the trigger, but that's as much because Edwards was bent on avoiding a fight as anything. Litzau didn't dazzle, but he did win, and he didn't take a huge step backwards - he just had a less entertaining win than he did three months ago.

I don't exaggerate...I just call it the way I see it. If you see it differently...then thats you, I can appreciate and respect that. I just wasn't impressed, thats all. |

First of all, I was amazed at the refusal of a lot of downtown establishments to change just ONE tv from the World Series to the fight. Great point about the new dad--seriously, if people judged my job performance at any time between the first and third months after my daughter was born, it wouldn't have been pretty. Tough opponent in there, and I think Jason got some good work in. I didnt like seeing him get cut and hope that heals soon. I thought Jason would get him out of there especially in the last rounds, but he got the win, and he moves on. Congratulations to Jason. |

I am not a father but i can just imagine how hard a new born is! Yep, Jason won easily but, i hate to say 126 is pretty much right, just a little harsh though! I think we will see the exciting J. Litz again! New born, trained at home, very awkward op, and a stupid ref all didnt help out the american boy! Once again congrats ! If Wilton wins the next fight with ease, maybe the talk of jason/wilton will be come reality...
