Just curious if anyone is planning on purchasing the PPV card this Friday with the main of Campas-Camacho Jr. The main really doesn't interest me that much. (They list Campas as 38 years old---there is NO WAY he is 38---he was 38 when he faced Vanda)

However---the interesting bout on this card is Randy Griffin. Randy is a middleweight who is highly ranked by some, but has just fought twice in the past two years, both being against Felix Sturm in Germany. (One draw, one loss). I can't say I recall ever seeing Randy fight, so this might be the first opportunity for any of us to have seen this guy.

This guy may or may not be one of the top middleweight contenders in the US--not sure, which is why I am going to purchase this card--no other reason. I have to see this guy.

If I didn't have to run an event that night my house would be full of Latin Invasion II!!!!!!!  On an internet stream that is.

Two weekends in a row we have horrible independent PPV cards.  The Judah/Casamayor card next weekend sucks ass too.  The next PPV I'm in for is the Manny vs. Cotto one.....Then Roy Jones Jr vs. Danny Green on Wednesday, December 2nd......

Well, I once again gave in to temptation and ordered the fight on Friday.  It went about as expected, Campas was slow, Camacho won a decision based on throwing out a bunch of jabs.  And he did this in spite of losing 3 points for vaious infractions.  I was hoping Lawrence Cole would just say enough and DQ him, but no such luck.

Randy Griffin's fight was apparently scratched.  Antonio Escalante had a decent 2nd round KO, and David Medina won a semi entertaining 8 round decision against Miguel Hernandez.  They announced Medina's nickname as "Gatti of the Rockies" but then said he came from Kansas - when did Kansas become part of the Rockies?

I guess the most notable thing about the card was that none other than Bobby Czyz was announcing.  How long has it been since Showtime gave him the boot? - must be over 5 years now.  Makes me feel old.

Also, Fernando Vargas got in the ring and basically confirmed that he was coming back to fight Camacho Jr.  Stay retired Fernando, nobody really wants to see you fight Camacho.

Once Griffin was scratched, I resisted the temptation and am glad I did here. I also heard that Camacho had his shorts even higher than he did against Kost.

As for Vargas, I am at a complete loss of words from that picture. I mean he always ballooned between fights. My favorite moment being when Ricardo Mayorga told him he looked like an ass--big fat and round (while smoking a cigarette too). But this is unreal. He has to be 230.

Klaw,

Vargas has an "under active thyroid" condition that causes him to have trouble controlling his weight.  If he's not constantly training and dieting this apparently is what happens.  Perhaps he is going to use fighting again as motivation to get back into shape?  I don't know.

Is that legeit...i dont know if i buy it! Anyway he should train his ass off to keep his ass off! LOL! That would be really hard to be a fighter if you had a under active thyroid gland......
